Eco-art Workshop with Carlotta Storelli

Ecotheatre – Living stories for the living

Carlotta Storelli is a transdisciplinary artist who explores Hybrid and Transdisciplinary Languages through Art, Nature, and Science. In this workshop, she established the stagecraft and dramaturgy of sensing our living biosphere and incorporating them in a somatic manner into storytelling.

Over the course of four days, she guided the group to establish a shared understanding of eco-art, sustainable art, and biomimetic dance principles, deepen observation and develop movement material inspired by natural ecosystems, using material-based experiments, including exploration of organic (leaves, soil, bushes) and inorganic (plastic, metal) materials.

With collaborative improvisations, connecting movement, and materials, the group presented a showcase with an interdisciplinary performance inspired by desertification. Its interdisciplinary narrative blended dance, theatre, and visual arts to generate a new intricate way of storytelling that speak to who we are in the living spaces we inhabit and what we are to these spaces.
