These tours – created and led by our friend and colleague Chiara Crisafulli – gave JÁFEST visitors a special window on this beautiful city…

The Lisbon in a Nutshell Tour starting at the Praça do Comércio took walkers up and down the hills of the city, visiting both the old districts and the downtown area and spanning the first known settlements to the fall of the XX century dictatorship…

On the 3-hour Poetry Reading Tour, walkers heard about modernism in Portugal, the Orpheus generation and the only Portuguese writer to have won the Nobel Prize for Literature, and discovered the two most passionate Portuguese female poets!

The Pessoa Tour was devoted to the most Portuguese of Portuguese poets – one of the most controversial and misunderstood men of letters of the 20th century! The tour passed through the many neighbourhoods Fernando walked on a daily basis, allowing guests to discover the idiosyncracies and quirks of the man behind the verses, and to read the original Portuguese as well as English translations of several of his poems…
