Synopsis: In this workshop, we will establish the stagecraft and dramaturgy of sensing our living biosphere and incorporating them in a somatic manner into our storytelling. We will establish a shared understanding of eco-art, sustainable art, and biomimetic dance principles, deepen observation and develop movement material inspired by natural ecosystems, using material-based experiments including exploration of organic (leaves, soil, shells) and inorganic (plastic, metal) materials, collaborative improvisations connecting movement, materials, and narrative to create interdisciplinary scenes blending dance, theatre, and visual arts to generate new intricate ways of storytelling that speak to who we are in the living spaces we inhabit and what we are to these spaces.
